Federal Laboratories began humbly in 1989, when Cornell-trained legacy chemist Dr. Taub set up a modest apothecary-style lab with a simple mission: to create formulas that were as kind as they were effective. He believed science should make life better for people, pets, and the places they share—without harsh chemicals, unnecessary perfumes, or empty marketing promises. What started as a bench covered in beakers and handwritten notes soon became a small-scale operation known for honest, dependable solutions that simply worked.

In those early years, Dr. Taub’s quiet precision and genuine curiosity attracted a loyal following. Local veterinarians, groomers, and homeowners came to rely on his odor eliminators, cleaning sprays, and wellness blends—each developed with the same care he gave to his own family and pets. His apothecary wasn’t glamorous, but it was real science, built on trust, testing, and the conviction that safety and simplicity never go out of style.

After Dr. Taub’s passing in 2014, the next generation took  up the mantle, modernizing the company while preserving its spirit of craftsmanship. Under modern leadership, Federal Laboratories expanded into new product categories and revived the classic formulas that defined its early days.
